The current plan is to hold a reunion in the summer of 2012 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the camp's first year on Rocky Point, its final site. Contact us for further information.
In 2009, on 7 and 8 August, a small group of us celebrated the 100th anniversary of the camp's four years (1908-1911) on Lazy Lady Island. That Friday we gathered at the park and enjoyed hamburgers cooked on the Memorial Fireplace using driftwood. On Saturday afternoon we got a chance to visit the Pines on the Georgia Shore, where the camp was located during its first season, take a boat ride over to Burton Island, as well as take another boat ride over to Lazy Lady Island to see the building that served as the camp's dining hall and kitchen during the island years. On Saturday evening we got together for dinner at a restaurant on Main Street in St. Albans.
In 2006, from 3 to 6 August, we celebrated the 100th anniversary of the camp's founding. The key events were a Friday evening cookout at Kill Kare, a mid-Saturday history tour and boat rides at the Pines, and a 100th Anniversary Banquet in St. Albans on Saturday evening. Photos taken at the 2006 events are still available on the Web site of our photographer at www.krisjarrett.com. A link to our photos is located toward the bottom of the front page of this site.
